The high quality adhesives used in your decal will create an excellent bond with just about any clean, smooth, weather resistant surface. Before you install your decal, please be sure of the following:
- If the surface is freshly lacquered or painted, please wait 3 weeks before applying the decal to be sure the surface is completely cured.
- Decals should never be applied when surface temperatures are below 46 degrees and a significant drop in temperature should be avoided during the first 24 hours after applying the decal.
The decal consists of 3 pieces:
- Pre-mask
- Vinyl decal
- Release Liner
- Clean the surface to which the decal will be applied with isopropyl alcohol and wipe it dry with a clean cloth. Do not use other cleaning agents because they may damage the paint or reduce the adhesive strength of the decal.
- Using a squeegee or credit card, firmly rub decal from center outward to be certain it is completely attached to the pre-mask layer.
- Arrange decal on surface to which it will be adhered. Use masking tape across the top of the decal to hold it in place if necessary.
- Pull back only as much release liner as required to begin mounting. Always draw the release liner from the decal, never the other way around. !!CAUTION!!: Do not let the exposed graphic fall onto the surface. The back of the graphic is very tacky and will tightly adhere to the surface, making removing and repositioning very difficult without causing damage to the decal.
- Reach under and pull release liner away from decal at 180 degree angle with one hand while applying pressure with a plastic squeegee (or credit card) to the pre-mask surface of the decal with the other hand to adhere the rest of the decal.
- Once graphic is in proper place, use firm strokes with the plastic squeegee to ensure the decal is completely adhered to the surface.
- Gently remove the pre-mask layer at a 180 degree angle. Be careful not to pull the decal up with the pre-mask.
